There are many activities and places of interest to visit within a short drive of La Grange.

You can relax by the Dordogne river at the local ‘river beach’ in Cenac (approx 3 miles away) or Vitrac Port (5 miles). These provide lovely, safe shallow waters for swimming and paddling. Canoeing down the river is also very popular from Cenac and Vitrac. There are a number of canoe operators located along this pretty section of the river where you can hire canoes and kayaks. Half or full day rentals are available at very reasonable rates. Simply park up your car, decide your route from a variety of options, and you will be picked up at a pre-arranged time and brought back to your car.

There are also many famous chateaux which are worth a visit, for example Milandes, Beynac, Castlenaud, (about 5 miles away) which provide a great day out. Our personal favourite is Castelnaud, which is huge hit with kids! Take your camera because the views are spectacular!

Another firm favourite for kids and adults alike is the ‘air park’ (like GO APE in the UK) There are two great parks approx 6 miles away where you can easily spend a full day. These even have adventurous courses for tots.

Boat trips are available from La Roque Gageac and Beynac.

The famous medieval town of Sarlat, with its wide variety of shops and restaurants is about 9 miles away. Lovely by day, but spectacular after dark! It's an experience wondering around the squares soaking up the atmosphere amongst the street entertainers.

The local night markets are an absolute must for a real taste of French life. Our favourites are Domme (Mondays) and Belves (Wednesdays). The latter is about 40 minutes away, but it’s worth the drive for the gorgeous medieval setting and the great range of food available from the traders (you choose your food and grab a place to eat at the tables that are set up in the medieval market square) Don’t forget to take your own alcohol, nibbles and bread, etc… The local St Ponpon market a few miles down the road (Saturdays) is less sophisticated but great fun with a local disco that belts out ‘til late.

There is a 9 hole golf course set in beautiful surroundings at Vitrac (about 4.5 km away). Its called "Domaine de Rochebois" and is open to visitors -
